Rocca’s new addition: LeBron?
February 4, 2009
Call me crazy, but if you know you’re going to lose a perennial all-star that is still in his prime when he gets the chance to sign unrestricted with whatever team he most prefers, shouldn’t you get something in return?
The ultimate sin would be to trade LeBron James of course. Read the rest of this entry »
Blaze Nation: Minus a Star
February 3, 2009
As I was watching the Blazers last night, a couple of thoughts were racing through my head.
I was frustrated that Chris Paul got hurt; you always want to show that you can beat the best. I’m always happy when Portland picks up a win, but this little twinge within me was concerned with how NBA.com’s Power Rankings would evaluate a win in which Portland was completely dominated for 3 quarters at the hands of Chris Paul, but only really looked like a Playoff team once the Nola heart and soul was limping to the locker room.
A win is a win. A loss is a loss. A toll is a toll, and if you don’t pay no toll, then we don’t eat no rolls.
This perhaps puts things in the best perspective:
”When you have a guy that’s an MVP-caliber player Read the rest of this entry »
Blaze Nation: Steph Curry
January 13, 2009
In completely make-believe news, I wondered onto NBADraft.net tonight just to see where abouts the Blazers would pick in the Draft this spring (assuming they don’t collapse in the 2nd half again), and also who would be projected to go at that pick.
I keeps it real. I know that NBADraft.net is no sort of authority on insider info or accurate collegiate evaluations, but still… a Blazer fan who watched March Madness last spring, and one who likes to pretend that flashy, big time scoring PGs in college hoops would fit seemlessly with the most promising young team in the Association, this got me going for about 6 minutes.
Also, note that NBADraft.net updates this board regularly, so after a good game or two by Steph or Patty Mills, and it will be Jeff Teague falling into the Blazers’ lap.
Boozer: Ho Hum
December 15, 2008
As we watch Paul Millsap emerge into stardom in the absence of the injured Carlos Boozer, isn’t it about time that we start to ask if Carlos Boozer is that good, or is Jerry Sloan just running a PF friendly system?
Check the resume:
Karl Malone: the league’s 2nd all-time leading scorer, and arguably the 2nd best PF to ever play the game. Read the rest of this entry »
Steve Nash Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good…
November 20, 2008
I know this has been out for a while, but I just watched the 2nd video, and I feel like Steve Nash should get credit in fantasy sports for not taking himself too seriously in real life.
Blaze: the Green Ranger’s return
November 15, 2008
Blazer fans can still remember 3 years ago like it were 11 days ago.
Portland, Ore - We didn’t exactly know who Kevin Pritchard was, except that he was the Player Personel guy that had just stepped in as interim Head Coach for the fired Mo Cheeks. Nate McMillan was in his first year as Blazer coach. Sebastian Telfair had come thru the fire to lead us to the worst record in the Association with the help of the newly signed $84 Million man Zach Randolph. And Darius Miles was having Microfracture surgery.
In other parts that we were less aware of:
Seattle, Wa - Brandon Roy was beginning his Pac-10 Player of the Year, Sweet 16, All-American senior year.
Austin, Tx - LaMarcus Aldrige was returning from freshman surgery staking his claim to Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year.
Indianapolis, In - Reigning National High School Player of the Year Greg Oden, the first Junior since LeBron James to win National Player Read the rest of this entry »
Blaze Nation: Middle School Break-up
November 5, 2008
Listen, I’ve really had a good time during our off and on relationship these past 4+ years. But I think we both know this isn’t going anywhere anymore. We can see that we’ve just been going through the motions lately, and I think it’s best for both of us if we just cut things off before we get too invested, and then all of the sudden one day we’re just two people stuck where we both don’t want to be.
Look, you deserve better than this. I’m not committed to you anymore, but I do think the world of you and I think you should have a fan that wants to want you. Read the rest of this entry »
