gawd I love my team.
I wasn’t sure at first, but I ended the draft getting the last 10 guys that I wanted.
My biggest problem is that I don’t have any big timers in batting average and HR’s. But I feel like all my guys do everything well. Like my favorite team (ATL Bravos), Jeff Francoeur can make or break me.
My staff has fewer question marks than my line-up. Take Peavy to the bank. Billingsley was ill last year. Jair and Slowey are about to be stars. Carpenter and Verlander are shortly removed from Cy Young style dominance, and Kenshin has been killing his spring.
My Bullpen has 4 proven closers that don’t have too many miles on them.
The only place I really disagree with you is Verlander, who has suffered from a huge drop in velocity since his MVP type year. His average fast ball went down like 2.5 miles per hour. Billingsley has some of the best stuff in baseball. Longo is the man, and Chase Utley is one of my favorite players. Yunel Escobar will be one of the better offensive short stops in the next 3 years, in my opinion. But yeah, John’s team lacks true power for HR’s and OPS, we’ll see.
It sounds like you give this team way too much credit. They may be your picks, but are you really being honest with your team’s potential? This sounds like it begs for chants of “over-rated.”
